VESSELS

When looking at the briefs I came across one that said “Destiny” where I am expected to produce a series of vessels. When I read that I was a bit confused as I didn’t quite understand the meaning behind this but after reaching out to my mentor to get things cleared up, I found out that the brief is based upon the general definition of vessels. So when I searched that up I was greeted with a variety of meanings behind that word and out of the lot of them I travelled towards anatomy . I think the reasoning behind that choice was because I have always been interested in how the body’s muscles and structure move and work together for us as humans to be able to do what we do in our daily life’s as well as it just amazes me that even though people have a quality that makes them differently the outside our body structure and insides are all the same. During the initial research of anatomy I was able to discover that this subject matter is based upon the observations or examinations of the body structure of a human, animal and any other living organism, with that common understanding I wanted to look into art in anatomy where I found it it’s more about the creative expression of the structural form of life , more specifically in human anatomy, and I really wanted to focus on that an by doing that I came across Italian Renaissance paintings and drawings all surrounding anatomy where the artists wanted to refine a more lifelike sculpture of the human form and by doing that they become anatomists by necessity. ( An anatomist is a medical scientist who conducts research on human biological structures) these artist ranging from Antonio pollaiuolo, leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. So when I searched that up I was greeted with a variety of meanings behind that word and out of the lot of them I travelled towards anatomy . For my final piece I want to create an Artwork either ranging from a collection of art pieces or an painting inspired by Anatomy in Art in the renaissance period.
